Manufacturers Breakfast
Friday, June 25, 8am
The Manufacturers' Breakfast is a regular Convention activity where the attendees and Manufacturers gather for breakfast,
and the Manufacturers have an opportunity to discuss their new and future products.
For the Houston Convention, the Manufacturers' Breakfast is scheduled for the morning of Friday, June 25, 2010.
Thus, it will take place before the Swap-A-Rama and Train Show.
Manufacturers will have the opportunity to describe the products they will be exhibiting later.
They can call attention to items they consider to be particularly noteworthy.
This year, our hotel is offering this All American Breakfast buffet
- Assortment of Dry Cereals complemented with
- Bananas, Raisins & Seasonal Berries
- Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes O'Brien,
- Crisp Bacon Strips, Country Sausage
- Freshly Baked Breakfast Breads to include Croissants, Danish and Muffins,
- Butter, Margarine and Preserves, Bagels Served with Cream Cheese,
- Milk and Skim Milk
- Breakfast beverages
MANUFACTURERS: PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to speak at the Manufacturers' Breakfast,
please indicate this by giving your business card to George Hollwedel or Jim Hinds some time before
the presentations begin, and request that you be given a chance to speak.
In return, you will be given an index card.
You are encouraged to use that card to make speaking notes for your portion of the presentation.
The card will have a place for you to enter your name, your company name, and your email address.
Please write your speaking notes on the card, writing brief notes legibly.
After you speak, you will be asked to turn in your index card, to allow the Breakfast organizers to collect
and distribute a summary of the presentations.
This summary will be sent to the major model railroad magazines and N Scale chat lists for possible publication.
Your participation is encouraged, but it is at your option.
After you surrender your card but before the summary is published,
the Breakfast committee will enter your notes into a computer file and email your portion to the email address you provide.
This will allow you to proofread and correct anything requiring editing before the summary is published.
The Breakfast committee intends to accomplish this activity quickly,
and the amount of time to be allowed for these reviews will be limited to a day or two.
At the Breakfast, the following procedure will be used.
All Business Cards received will be placed into a container,
and the business card of the first speaker will be drawn.
That person should come forward, draw the business card for the next speaker,
announce that person's name, and then deliver his or her presentation.
The next speaker should come to the front of the room to be ready to speak as soon as the previous speaker is finished.
As the two speakers are exchanging positions, the first speaker should surrender his or her speaking notes
if that option is chosen.
