FREDs, EOTs, Caboose & Passenger lighting.
A look at the state of non-locomotive lighting options for N Scale cars.
FREDs/EOTs are those sometimes-blinking lights on the last car of modern trains, these replaced the caboose in the mid-eighties. Caboose lights come in various forms from interior, single light, dual lights, dual lanterns, roof mounted and even sometimes FREDs. Passenger cars come with interior lighting and various End of Train lights and even headlights on Commuter Cab cars.
The workshop will cover the various options available today with both factory options and custom installations. Varieties of options including battery powered, track power and DCC.
The host, Greg Goyette, the "G" in GATR Works has over twenty years of experience manufacturing N scale End of Trains lights and has installed EOT in thousands of N scale cars.

Jeff Lee MMR
Why dismantle a perfectly good layout and rebuild?
Jeff had a large double deck layout that had been featured in magazines and it ran very well. Why did he decide to start again and dismantle a relatively young layout? What drove him to change? What resources did he use to plan the new layout? What are the things he wanted changed and what were his “Must haves”?
The new layout is well advanced.
Come and share the story and the benefits of starting again.
