NASHVILLE CONVENTION SCHEDULE
Tuesday June 23, 2020
Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum - 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
Attention All NSE Train Folks! IT HAPPENED! At the request of many members, we’ve been working diligently to find a train to ride for this convention and with the help of our friends at ScaleTrains, we have received something extra special!
We had actually given up hope on finding a train ride in the Nashville area, but boy oh boy did we convention sponsor and manufacturer came up with a doozy! (by the way, did you know that saying came from ads for the Duesenberg?)Shane and Co. have arranged a visit to the Civil War era strategic railroad hub city of Chattanooga, TN. This “local” excursion is on unique rails that traverse a 160 year old tunnel, historic backshops and an active turntable. If the stars stap in alignment, and the 125 year old bolts hold together we will travel behind a unique locomotive. For our trip, the Southern 630, an ALCO 2-8-0 Consolidation steam engine from 1904 will be on point. Naturally, availability of any vintage power is not guaranteed, bit they have a great backup in their vintage 1950’’s GP7/9. Either way, we have a heck of a ride behind some vintage iron.

Sometimes when we plan things, providence intervenes, and things don’t go as we plan. Our Jack Daniels tour did not meet the minimum number of attendees, so this tour is a godsend to our Tuesday schedule, and we are happy offer all those who signed up for that tour the new one at the same price. If you are tired of train rides, a refund is also available.
The tour will include bus transport to Chattanooga, a box lunch at the museum and backshop, the Fabulous excursion train, and Special Pricing on Scale Trains products at the station for tour attendees only. Of course on the bus back to the convention site, there may or may not be a singalong.
